And then I have Lydia and I desire her to wear this beautiful shiny new +20% stamina regen glass chestpiece I just constitute but she wont put the damn thing on.
I know that the armor you lot want them to wear has to exist better than their regular starting armor, just glass certain every bit hell is better than (I'thou guessing) steel. She was wearing some dwarven armor I gave her earlier just fine, and glass armor has a better armor rating than dwarven likewise.
Does Lydia just refuse to vesture light armor fifty-fifty though its conspicuously better? Is at that place any way to make her article of clothing it?

you lot accept to remove the default gear that is not showing upwardly in the trade window.
This can only be done via console or a style.
Console is easy
two ways to practise this, one roughshod, one targeted and more controlled.
if you demand her base code
blazon help lydia 0
though for this you should not need to do that.
first thing I recommend. Open up normal merchandise and remove all y'all can via that ways starting time (so as to make the next step less fuzzy)
open up panel. target her.
enter:
showinventory
y'all will meet a list of gear with codes and some weird errors that skrymm seems to show that fallout and fallout NV did not bear witness.
observe the armor or whatsoever item you want to take from her. You might at this stage write down the particular codes for futurity reference.
to remove any item
removeitem (code) 1 where code is the base ID revealed in showinventory minus the () and ane is the number of items to remove.
or the brutal method that worked fine in FNV and fallot (i've not tested i in skryim yet)
removeallitems
now when yous requite her that classy fur item with lower stats she will clothing information technology.
There is a possiblity at some stage her script may respawn some items. My lydia has non respawned her armor.
Some NPCS' in FNV would respawn their default gear.
Thats information technology.
Edit. I forgot to mention If you need to gyre up in console to see text folio up and page downwardly should work while in console

I kickoff tried the removeallitems method, which initially worked in that she only had her underwear left. But as before long equally I gave her the glass chestpiece, all of her standard armor reappeared and she would still not habiliment it.
But the more targeted removeitem did it and at present she is properly shiny.
Cheers

And then I have Lydia and I desire her to wear this cute shiny new +20% stamina regen drinking glass chestpiece I just found but she wont put the damn affair on.
I know that the armor you desire them to wear has to be amend than their regular starting armor, but glass sure as hell is better than (I'g guessing) steel. She was wearing some dwarven armor I gave her earlier just fine, and glass armor has a better armor rating than dwarven too.
Does Lydia just reject to vesture light armor even though its clearly meliorate? Is there any way to brand her wear it?
I recollect there'southward more than that. Glass is skillful armor to y'all. But Lydia wears heavy armor and probably her skill in light armor is not that high. So to her information technology's crapier. And since you're cheating why not get some heavy armor to give her through the console. I'll be she looks hot in ebony armor

Her skill in lite armor might non be high right now, just I would imagine later wearing information technology a lot it will gradually increase and be acceptable. Besides glass outranks steel so much I dont think any amount of skillpoints would counterbalance it.
And every bit for the cheating part. I dont, in whatsoever manner, remember of this equally cheating. But rather more every bit a failure in Bethesda for not assuasive me to customize my companion equally I want. I obtained that glass armor from a breast commonly in the game, and it would ruin the game for me if I just created ebony armor from nowhere only considering I got lite armor instead of heavy armor.

I notice this problem as well.
It seems to me she is always wearing her 'Steel Armor', and she doesn't wearable anything else I give her except weapons and helmet.
Then I got my hands on Wolf Armor, so I gave her that.
She put it on after we changed zone.
Unlike Sven, whose default armor is habiliment, he wears every armor I give him right away.
